What are friends for... to demean each other or to do leg-pulling or to boast in front of each other! Sarcastically true... the great bond of friendship is limited to strange types of selfish behaviors... but my idealism does not let me accept this new definition of friendship where the goal is not sincerity, support and genuine concern...
Melancholy true and devastatingly bitter friendship has lost its meaning and has become more of a competition rather than what it used to be and what we used to share a few decades ago... why people change over time? why we ourselves change? why priorities change? why so? we are running machines not less than robots following our routine and schedule of work along with performing our duties and responsibilities... but the flame of friendship needs to be lit somewhere by somebody and efforts must be made to keep it burning steadily...
Being an idealist I still believe in all old values and traditions that speak of true human emotions and tickle every heart with pure beauty, I still believe in goodness of intention and its reward by God, I still believe in "Do good and have good"... though logically what you get is not what you deserve or anticipate: totally unpredictable and uncertain life may bring forth anything all of a sudden or your path can change or any other transformation can occur.
So it is not an advice from my side but a humble suggestion to love your friends as they are more precious than material possessions and value their feelings of affiliation with you, as it is said good friends are to be treasured forever! Keep that treasure close to your heart and make your friends a priority no matter how busy you are... It will fill your heart with bliss and delight and you will feel grateful to be a good person!!!
